Big and tiny

Well we arrived at Horne lake. We are sleeping here for the next two days, in Teepees!

We are simply amazed being surrounded by the mountains.
They are so big. Today we are off to visit a cave and do some repelling. Ted and I are not looking forward to the caves. (being 6ft tall ).

We visited a fun walk thru museum about the history of forestry industry in Duncan.

Including a train ride around the compound. We spotted a huge eagles nest. Mommy eagle was circling Toaster.

At the end of our tour. We found a scout bench and could not resist taking a group

Now heading to Horne lake.
Coffee count is up to 4 per leader today.

Sooke it in.

We went swimming in the Sooke pot holes!!

Day one done!

Flight and airport was quite easy.. Though we had to Warn Toaster to use his real name when passing security.. And I (Akela) looked ridiculous passing through security with 18 Med cards in my pocket...

Driving to Sooke was a bit crazy, it only took 30 seconds before we lost every one in the first turn around!practically all 5 cars went out in every directions by mistake.. 30 minutes later we all gathered Back!!!

We are up in Scout Camp Barnard. Nice site, full of big trees and a small lake..
Scouter Terry cooked us up some fresh Salmon on the BBQ, caught not more than to days ago!
It was delicious! During the cooking, Da Yutes, enjoyed a refreshing Swim!

We are sleeping in a big lodge. We all went to bed by 10pm (PT) 1am(ET). We were all zonked.

By 4:40am.. I couldn't sleep anymore.. so here I am typing on the blog.. and making lots of coffee..

Baby tree!!

We landed on time in Victoria.
Funny, the flight lasted 13min.

We are now off to Horne Lake!!

Flying over the Rockies !

We all had an Aawwe moment. The Rockies were spectacular !

Relatively a Safe flight. Though Thomas's water bottle spilled out from the luggage container and dripped on a poor lady in the seat below it.

Scouter was worried. The water leaked in a spot near what he calls the main control lines. -gulp!

We flawlessly got through security and ready to board. Always funny all the other passengers checking our boarding passes to see where the scouts are sitting.
