Jiggers, Fish and Chips

Yummm....
Today we had lunch at a restaurant called Jiggers, the restaurant is actually in a truck. It had amazing fish and fries. The fish, halibut was fresh and caught this mourning. There was also some food that you could buy at any restaurant, like hamburgers and pogo. Also there was an excuse of poutine.

There was also a crazy statue right outside the restaurant. I think that Alex and Jeremy really liked the statue.

Here is a picture of the fish and chips.

End of a big day!

We had a big day. And big days deserve big fires. YEAH!!! WOO!!! ...well, no fire tomorrow. Look's like we burned all the wood. BURN BABY BURN!!!!

-Devon

Scouter Ted kept asking for more wood on the fire.

Under and over!!

Our morning started with a cave tour!! The group adventured under two different caves. We saw underground waterfalls, stalagmites and stalagtights made of calcium and we almost got stuck in some of the caves.

Our afternoon was spent climbing down some pretty steep cliffs. Everyone had fun defying gravity. It was freaky to hold your own weight in a rope and hoist yourself down. We took some great shots, with our better cameras.
-Scouter Akela

We went down into the ground all us nervous nellies did a great job climbing around in the wet caves and no one touched the calsites that Shane told us to avoid. Quick lunch and then off to conquer more rocks, it was pretty cool. Everyone made it to the edge and most to the bottom! I made it with a slight disagreement with the rock LOL all I can say is there will be bruises! A great start to the grand adventure!

We are simply amazed being surrounded by the mountains.
They are so big. Today we are off to visit a cave and do some repelling. Ted and I are not looking forward to the caves. (being 6ft tall ).

Day one done!

Flight and airport was quite easy.. Though we had to Warn Toaster to use his real name when passing security.. And I (Akela) looked ridiculous passing through security with 18 Med cards in my pocket...

Driving to Sooke was a bit crazy, it only took 30 seconds before we lost every one in the first turn around!practically all 5 cars went out in every directions by mistake..  30 minutes later we all gathered Back!!!

We are up in Scout Camp Barnard. Nice site, full of big trees and a small lake..
Scouter Terry cooked us up some fresh Salmon on the BBQ, caught not more than to days ago!
It was delicious! During the cooking, Da Yutes, enjoyed a refreshing Swim!

We are sleeping in a big lodge.  We all went to bed by 10pm (PT) 1am(ET). We were all zonked.

By 4:40am.. I couldn't sleep anymore.. so here I am typing on the blog.. and making lots of coffee..
